Occupiers' Liability Compensation Claims

A considerable number of accidents occurring visitors trespassing. The occupant is responsible for ensuring that the premises are safe, whether it's a store, a rental property or private property, for example. Negligence must be proved against the occupant of a claim to succeed.




Accidents can occur as a result of a defect in the property itself or as a result of an activity performed on it. Stairs are a common cause of accidents, the protrusions are improperly fitted or inadequate provision of handrails. Other claims include landslides common in supermarkets and shops, accidents in hotels abroad, travel on pavements and accidents on playgrounds.

The occupants also have a duty to protect invaders, so you may be able to make a claim for compensation in certain circumstances, when you do not have permission to be in place or land.
